Air Conditioning Units at Edwin Stipe, Inc.
Having an air conditioning unit installed in your home will not only make your house cooler, but it will circulate the air better. We even have mini split AC systems available.
There are various types of home air conditioning units available, each with unique qualities:
- Central air conditioner – Central air conditioning units are used in homes where ductwork exists or can be installed. This type of system makes use of a large compressor and two separate packaged units. The condensing unit is placed outside the home and contains the condensing fan, compressor, and condenser coil.
- Ductless air conditioner – This system is made up of one indoor and one outdoor unit. The indoor unit contains the evaporator and cooling fan. The outdoor unit contains the compressor, expansion valve, and condenser. Split air conditioning units provide the convenience of not having to use ducts and can be placed in any room.
- Dual Fuel Systems – This system is “dual fuel” in that it combines an electric heat pump with gas or oil for optimum efficiency.
- Heat Pumps – Perhaps the most attractive feature of a heat pump is that it heats your home in the winter and cools your home in the summer. The basic principle of a heat pump is that it moves heat from one location to another using refrigerants for both heating and cooling.
